38 people will die
at the hands of time
and the mercy of mine.
It's that gagging feeling like
my soul screams through
the roller coaster's descent -
chest tightens as breathing stops
and the rest of your body follows
in a feeble attempt
to shut out the world
by eliminating the senses
-- not just the stimuli --
or maybe just the muscle memory of
crying yourself to sleep.
Trying to exhale with
nothing left.
Trying to vomit,
rejecting life,
projecting battery acid;
respecting illusionary method.
Screaming in silence.
When the method is applied
to the heart beat,
multiplied by infinity
to include feeling,
the ebb and flow
builds up and
is then repressed but
never released.
In a list
All I can say is that I hope you like it...

This is great, you have fantastic and psychologically deep ideas, yet I feel this was lacking the emotional edge that would have taken it to the next level. The last stanza... is crazy...
I relate well to this.
thank you for your entry,

This is really interesting, a comment on the cage of the human condition, no? Very intruiging imagery, well done

OH MY!!! and he returns with a BANG...
where do i even begin? to say this is powerful isn't even touching the surface of what you wrote.
the depth of each phrase, the feeling and image each gives to me~ it's like i am within the poem. that's the best way i can express it.
the feeling like there is a buildup of something within my container, almost like it's fermenting and i am ready to explode, but there is no outlet.
removing the muscle memory of crying yourself to sleep... you dont know how i want to do the same thing.
what a great piece. glad to see you back writing

Hmm, battery acid. You should have entered this in my contest. That was one of the options
Love all the vivid images especially the rollercoaster
