The leaves in me have faded
for a foggy, fateful fall.
Your breeze no longer speaks my name
I ignore its colorless call.
In the soulless summer I find
the sun behind your eyes,
the life that fills your heart
and clears my smoky skies.
I know that when the night steps out
from its silent season of sleep
you'll hide it with your blinding light
while my trees protest and weep.
They howl your name in the dark
to a bloody harvest moon
and remind me that the time has come:
You have to leave me soon.
As the leaves in my soul bring about my fall
the stars in you will see
that although the sun shines through in you
it burns a hole in me.

"In the soulless summer I find
the sun behind YOUR eyes,"
Missed a letter, love =)
I like this! Again, this poem reminds me of a "star-crossed" lovers theme... and I love it
I like how you used seasons to portray the loss and pain of someone coming and going from your life.
Very clever.
