Restless

It's as if, I've been invited
to a haunting
without the will of refusal.

I am bound to sleepless nights
a tireless ticking of the clock
an endless repertoire
of demon jostling.

I close my eyes again
and yet again
a wish for heaven's rest.

What did you think

I would say that this reminds me of what a spirit must think everytime he/she is thought upon for guidence or summoned through the planchete of a ouija, but as Houdini drainfully discovered this is not neccessarily the case.

You can't drain the drained (though they can drain themselves) - the living however feel that pull everyday they wake because it's a full time job keeping those demons contained.
