Simply swiftly
you stepped into my sight
to teach me about camouflage
and agility.
When I whispered,
ears moved;
sparkling eyes turned towards me:
gifted me
an endless moment
of Eternity ...
before we both sped off
again.
Would you return to our memory;
to the summit
where we shared love?
.
you stepped into my sight
to teach me about camouflage
and agility.
When I whispered,
ears moved;
sparkling eyes turned towards me:
gifted me
an endless moment
of Eternity ...
before we both sped off
again.
Would you return to our memory;
to the summit
where we shared love?
.

Really beautiful. Congrats on the well deserved gold.

Life is truly measured in the intensity of the moments lived. The dynamics of life should be rich and full, and no one personifies that in their work any better. Bravo.

-
Some of the best times in life are those split seconds that leave a lasting impression. Excellent free verse my sweet friend.

Congratulations on your shiney gold!
Love and blessings,
Sandi

I felt the critter was simply badly photographed and highly pixelated. I gather it was hardly even moving...despite that you provide every inspiration the intention of the picture brings.
Still...I complain...
And...how did you ascertain the critter loved you? I suspect it would be suspicious and afraid.
I don't know.
Maybe I'm too cynical...or just too outspoken.
Sometimes I know the latter is true...and yet... -

Animals love unconditionally ...
or flee.
I cropped the picture from a very big photo, simply swiftly taken. No, it did not move, it stood listening to me.
And: I know Love when I see it.
I can speak bird language, cat language, dog language, even spider language.

Simply excellent, Myra. You have allowed your readers to share an intimate meeting between the human and the animal world - and you do it in words of great beauty.
Much respect,
Bill

What a beautiful picture of a klipspringertjie. You words conveyed your feelings so aptly. This is a wonderful poem about our connection to nature. You've made me homesick!
Congratulations on the well deserved Gold.

Well deserved gold. Once you share that moment with the wild ones, your spirit runs with them the rest of the day. We long to be as free as they.
When the deer wander into our yard it seems to me that they pause to look at me, as if examining me and trying to fathom what sort of life I live. Then they flit off, light on their feet as butterflies, to regain the life that surges by me, unseen in the woods. I often wish I could run after and dive into that life and course through it like a fish in a stream.
Excellent.

It is rare to share a moment with a wild animal, you have caught its essence with the exchange of gazes.
Lovely, good luck!
