Above I saw them circling,
Like storm clouds in the wind.
Blackening a brighter day
And chiming minor tunes.
The ravens drowned a little girl.
Their wish held high above her own.
They cherished self-deceptive dreams
And beat her out of peace.
They condemned her to lie
While they condemned her to live
While they forced her to fake a smile
And destroyed a pleasant mind.
I knew her well and always kept her close.
I knew she would one day fall.
But every day I hold her closer
And smile as another raven falls.
I know she's finally waking,
Unlike all the times she's tried.
She's raising above the weakening influence
And finally feeling good enough,
strong enough,
Peaceful again.

This is how I used to view myself and how I'm starting to view myself.
