magnolia

At the top of a twisting staircase
she counted seconds
between thoughts of concrete
and crushing bone.

Magnolia skin and crystal blues
were beautiful once.
When they were clean;

untouched.

    It's been a long time since I've read a poem of yours, and it's a shame really, as you are one of the better writers I have come across on this site. You paint the moment here extremely well, and it gives the poem a very strong emotional quality. Nice write. Best of luck in the contest.
