With words that do no justice,
I try my hardest to remember you.
And with a heart still feeling no emotion,
I try to find the courage to let you go.
I can’t seem to take reality in,
Yet there’s an emptiness inside.
It chews and twists and tells my mind,
That I should feel a seething pain;
Still, no worthy wording fills my page,
And frustration eats at my temper.
With words that do you no justice,
I try to describe you to the unfortunate listener,
Who never had the pleasure of your company.
And with a numbness that creeps through my veins,
I lay awake and talk to God.
