Have you heard a gentle laughing
on an evening summers breeze
the sweet refrains of fantasies in flight.
Have you sensed the muffled hush
after winters fallen snow
or unfamiliar voices in the night.
Have you felt a baby move
inside its mothers womb
a quiet desperation when in love.
And are you sometimes doubtful
questioning
the source of humankind.

i love the very human questions. i think alot of folks would answer no as they are to wrapped up in their head to listen to the silence and the soft heartbeat of others.
strong poem. you seem very in tune.

Just an excellent thought provoking piece of poetry. The beauty of mankind. At times just taken for granted.

The choice of words is quite delightful in this poem. I sense a small hiccup at 'questioning' in the last but one line.
There is an interuption to the smoothness of the rest of the poem. Is this for emphasis? Lovely poem.

I like how you worded this poem.
I especially like the lines,
"are you sometimes doubtful questioning
the source of humankind."
Thank you for your entry
