Glory bound - Shadorma form

Missing image

Come sail with

me ‘cross breadth of sea

beyond life’s

mortal reign,

with love and faith as guides, past

comprehension’s plane.

These canvas

sails will never fail

as long as

faith is near,

for the ledge of reckoning

beckons, Glory cheers!

Author notes

Since I came up with this form for the contest, I thought I'd give it a go.

I saw your contest featuring this form.
I eyed this painting too, for some time. Having virtually no confidence in my abilities these days, I slunk away, pretended I couldnt do it.
Im hopelessly oppositionally defiant you see, and to actually attempt to write in form goes against everything I stand for.
Yeah okay, so I knew my contribution would not be this fantastic.
Can you win your own contests?
just kidding, you should at least get an HM
    Love,
    jin

  • I am very impressed that you successfully combined a rigid syllable count with rhyme. This is a wonderful example of this form. I also love it when the contest judge feels inspired by her own theme. Very well done. Peace, Liz

I often write something for my own contests, if it doesn't inspire me, would it inspire others? one never knows

      Thanks again!
