Life's Cello

Missing image
A pluck of strings and
I feel sad music move inside me.

Notes hidden by darkness, as
the man of sin sends shadows of self-doubt,
to consume with contaminated echoes.
His soured sonatas
play bottom-less pits of
black orchestras.

Yet, in sweet songs, I know
my god plays compassionate chords,
sounds of jubilant joy.

Evil scurries
from the light of the world as
    the cello plays
        soft music of life
          on higher tones.

Darkness into light,
weakness into might.

Author notes

Satan = 'the man of sin.' II Thessalonians 2-3

Jesus = 'the light of the world.' John, Chapter 8.

Lovely! A great turnaround from start to finish as your faith takes hold and leads you out of the darkness. What a lovely compliment to have someone like Prabhu select this from all the poems he has inspired. Thank you.

  • Nice! I like 'my god plays compassionate chords'.

God's Light & Might! That's all we need.

This is an incredible piece! Very well written, so well I almost could hear the music; the jubilant chords, of course. God's Light definitely dispells the darkness and His strength takes away our weaknesses. Praise the Lord! This is a winner.

    Luv & hugs, BonnieQ

  • Yes HE is really playing the compassionate chords and this way HE touches the soul of the whole humanity as well..well done indeed...

Shadows are only made through light.
I love the weakness-to- strength element of this. The 'man of sin' has no real power indeed.
    Good effort.

      Thank you, Paul.

Yes, shadows can only exist with light...and when we have the light, the dark cannot exist. Hence the light of God extinguishes the black of Satan.

In John, Jeus said, "I am the light of the world." ... in the sixth line up from the bottom in the poem

I am glad you liked it.

  • Well, if this does not say it all...Amen
