On the grass beneath a willow tree,
she read a poem,
so close,
he could hear her breathing,
feel her warmth radiate.
And his heart beat fast,
though it ached, for he knew,
that the distance between
love and illusion
could be as far as touch,
as close as no where at all.
And though her gaze
melted in his smile,
he knew that soon enough,
her eyes could freeze
the most ardent heart.
And when west winds
blew the coldest air
he knew,
she would do as she had done,
as she once said she would do.
She spent her love,
discarding it
beneath things long forgotten,
dispensed with,
dispatched
...in a poem.

Those weren't always under Parrish's account, or the account wasn't always Parrish, cause I read the 1st four before. Anyway, I like A view from Mars very much, but my favourite is Selene

Susan Parrish was another name you knew, I forget which now. You know most of those poems because I use those accounts primarily to enter your contests.

"Being and Essence" was in your contest too but I got mad and removed it...the poem sucks but the comment I had to add on an old poetry poem was brilliant.

At last---family reunion----
all the assorted ghosts
hanging out with the host!

-
Wasn't the last one Coelho's?
Selene is my favorite in this grouping. A View from Mars is so entirely Yemish in it's distraction by something most would overlook or not even notice.
Beautiful collection.

So you didn't like my Santa and Rudolf staring contest?
-
-
Why? Are you especially proud of that one...because of the symbols perhaps?
-
-
You are confusing me with Hugh. They just look like Santa and Rudolf staring to me
-
-
Well apparently then Santa and Rudolph have staring contests.

*shakes head* tsk tsk

Do you ever feel like burning AllPoetry to the ground? No? It's just me then.

I kind of like "View From Mars" Maybe it's ''View From Venus.'' What is that book? Men are from Mars, Women are from Venus? Whichever one is men, that is what I meant for the title

-
One of your other personalities
also laid claim to the Mars piece
for I remember the discussion
we had as I reminded you
it was m form m.
Poignant pieces, all.
And of course, the "poor Yem"
can't be supressed
as he takes the forty lashes... -
Men are from Mars is correct. I have that book somewhere. lol
You need to burn something again? It's mostly just you
-
-
It usually is just me. Just these old poems. They make me want to burn this whole place to cinders.
Every poem here but the last one reminds me of some crappy moment on AP. Can I at least toss AP down a well?
-
-
Yeah, go ahead but just don't blame it on me, okay? lol
