Cheap Paperback

Colorless thoughts
render torn beats
of promises;
lingering the silence

with grounded sensibility
blotting echoes
into syllables of black

vacuity remains,
as contempt breeds
a jaded soul

for feathers of a flock
I have become~

    Though I understand the use of placing yourself into it at the end, I feel (after reading it twice) that omitting the "I" would work better than having it in. Just a thought.

    Other than that, a good piece.

    lingering the silence, and becoming part of the flock ..such wonderful images sending forth the mood within this poem. Pulp is a mixture of all put into one, disguising each piece as the same. I like how you have used the prompt. Good poem.

  • "blotting echoes
    into syllables of black"

    "for feathers of a flock
    I have become~" <--loved both stanzas...they really stood out to me while reading...

    I love this piece!

    The last two lines tore me up-scuse the pun-
    I am not a master of free verse at all and I can see why with poets like yourself creating something like this- in just a few lines you manage to convey everything so well-
    Hilly xxx

    Torn ...

    ... like pages, mixed, disheveled
    order is lost or stolen
    bittered, shadowed, punished
    with no fault
    no cause to be so illy used
    your words burn with an inner fire
    when you will...
    let it be instead
    a light
    for any
    honorable
    moth to see

  • well done. The mind becomes what we read, good, bad or ugly.hahahaha, i used to read them, and other such "stuff:, but found better use of my life and time. I love to read, just more choosy. lol. Thoughtful, deep, penetrating to the soul. Keep penning.

    I love what you've done with the prompt...this is a darker write than what I'm used to from you, but it's powerful and full of emotion. Well done

  • some very powerful images and senses flow out of this wonderful write. it speaks with intensity and passion despite a perceived lack of interest in what the narrator had previously read. well done my dear cuz
