The pain comes back
Hitting hard
Petals of a rose fall slowly
Fluttering in the wind
Flying far away from grey stone
Before landing in various places
Unseen by uncaring eyes
Too blurred with tears
Words read again and again
Tears streaming down a pale face
Framed with blond hair
Engraved with bright blue eyes
That have seen too much
In their young lives
"One year today,"
She murmured past the lump in her throat
"Both of you were killed
I lost the only things I ever had."
Then came the familiar anger
As always it did
The twins would never be held
In their mother's arms
Because she was stupid
And let a doctor convince her
It was the best thing for them

Hard to hear of such a thing esp when i miscarried twins years ago. A little "telly" bit a good poem. Strongest lines are the last two.
