" Like Lighter "

I would love to escape but now I'm addicted
Remembering your lovely breath I used to inhale
Wondering on as I'm gradually starting to realize
I'm a pawn in your game and this is checkmate

Your throwing lies like how oceans smash the shores
But I'm taken by your promising hope-filled lines
Your well-designed tone brittles my burning heart
I think someday it'll turn grey and fall into ashes

You don't know how my longing heart is cold and torn
It's hard to erase the feelings that ignites me
But your butterflies always creep behind my spine
This is a mistake but the thrill I can't easily shake

~~~~~
As the cigarettes rise up to glimpse the skies of my demise
Burning nights fade away in my dreams to stay away from you
I'm bound sleeping in cloudy days thinking of you
My sleepless nights whisper fresh air to stay away from you
But as the cigarettes dip their heads in your burning image
A heartfelt changed white and brown turn to red and yellow
And as long as the moment of gray is yet to collide
I'll be holding onto you forever after all.
    This is amazing! I love the metaphores! I love it all, I really like this line,
    'Your throwing lies like how oceans smash the shores
    But I'm taken by your promising hope-filled lines'
    another job well done!
  • I love the metaphors & I love where you've taken the prompt. One question... A cigarette w/o a lighter-can it cause an addiction? hehe...
