A child many years ago stumbled on a rhyme
not sure of what it was, he looked at it some time.
He showed it to his dad, his dad just looked and smiled
that’s a poem that you’ve written, a poem by a child.
The child slowly aged, but the fascination stayed
he would often write for fun, as the words inside him played.
The child became a man, but his love of words was there
acrostics, sometimes sonnets, he even wrote a prayer.
He bought a cheap computer, new worlds lay all around
one day by total chance, a poem site he found.
People liked to read them, they did it just for fun
people with like minds, his journey had begun.
It's hard to put in words, what AP now means to me
it’s a place I often linger, writing poetry.
I think about that child, and wonder what he'd say
to the man that he became, now writing every day.
