My precious cat is anything but wacky,
her keen intelligence amazes me.
You see, she thinks that she's a human,
and there are many days I quite agree.
If something is amiss, she is quite chatty,
she needs to let me know what's going on.
She talks and talks in her unique cat language
until the thing that bothers her is gone.
She loves to drink her water from the faucet,
she lets the water hit her on her head.
I've tried to get her to extend her tongue,
but she prefers her silly way instead.
When she's tense, she does a little shimmy,
I'll describe exactly what this act entails.
She lifts her back paw, then her tail starts shakin'..
it always makes me smile, it never fails.
No matter where she is, she always hears me
when I open up the door that holds her treat.
She appears from out of nowhere in a hurry,
she's fast as hell, in fact, she can't be beat.
I've saved the best 'til last, you won't believe it.
Before I throw her treat, I always say,
"Ready, set, GO!", then off she races
to get the treat that I just threw her way.
One day I noticed something quite unusual..
when she was ready, she would let me know
by mimicking the word she'd heard so often..
"Ready!", she would say (I swear it's so!)
I think you will agree my cat's not wacky,
but I'm afraid you won't think that of me.
For those of you who say you don't believe this,
I made a tape of her that you could see.
There are other things that I could say about her,
she's a very special cat in many ways.
When I'm down, my 'Sweet Pea' makes me happy,
she brightens up my very darkest days.

So your cat has conversations with you?
Ok, I can see her mimicking words, but I don't tend to agree, it's not the cat but you that is odd.
Sweet Pea sounds like fun cat. Another nice thing for you to do Maureen.
I'm going to go quit Hugh's group and then immediately re-join so then you have to write a poem about me.
