Streetlight

The night is a blanket
That closes the eyes of Nature.
The flickering streetlight
Keeps alive Aphrodite's dreams.
And the waves humm mystery.

Only in gentle light will tomorrow dawn.

A thief and a mistress meet
Beneath the streetlight,
Exchanging rainbows and crescent moons;
The night dries their lips.

Only in gentle light will tomorrow dawn.

They spent the night together;
They stole nothing
For the dreamers gladly relunquished
The night to those who dare.

Brave the darkness of the eyes.

The streetlight disappear into history
As the morning dew clouds its view.
The thief and the mistress are nowhere
To be seen, only the fountain of their blood.
The sun has no eyes at the back of his head.

Brave the darkness of the eyes
For only in gentle light will tomorrow dawn.
