Sojourn with me
into arid plains of solitude
where barren blades of melancholy
sift the dust of time in obscurity
and torrent winds create
dunes of oblivion
walk the path of Nomads
and pitch a tent of wandering
in search of your souls immortality
deep within the vegetation
of yearnings for survival
not of materialism which pacifies
wounds inflicted by self-deceit
but rather opiate opiums
of healing balms that lie just
over the horizon of rebirth
An epiphany of enlightenment
that's drawn from wells of living water
hidden in the deep recesses of the heart

It is intense... I will give it that! WOW! Very, very deep with raw intensity. Keep the ink flowing and good luck. Thanks for sharing.

I have to laugh at cgirl0410 comment about the phone book because I completely agree with her!!! Good luck with the contest!

Awesome as always. You could write a poem about the phone book, and I bet it'd be CRAZY! LOL. Great piece. Love the alliteration in this piece: opiate opiums; epiphany of enlightenment. Good luck in the contest. - cgirl0410

when did I miss your writing become so extraordinary? You've gone from just being good to being brilliant. Heavy, intense, yes. Painfully easy to relate to.
Love,
