world of uncertainty
no where to turn for strength
jobless days without any pay
many depressed, no sunlit rays
the rainbows stopped shining
the water stopped running
yet, bills keep coming each morn
as we fall into depths forlorn
our goals were misguided
our souls out of sync
our jobs our destiny
losing life's affinty
a slap in the face
shall awake all the world
as pockets are empty
and hearts bleed sympathy
nothing but time
to sit and to ponder
alone with our mind
as we look back behind
our jobs not our life
just supply funds to live
but we forgot who we were
as it all became a blur
searching for answers
a trust of some kind
as we all bend a knee
in search to be free
as he looks down
a smile on his face
finally they ask
for my trusting grace

stimulating
I find this poem very depressing but the reality is that we are living through economic depression and so your work is topical and representative of these times. For me, your poem has stimulated thoughts about our relationships with people and things...and it seems to me that if we can work on being as healthy as we are able to be in these respects, life just might shift onto a less materialistic plain...perhaps this is too idealistic a hope? Anyway, good luck in the contest.

Oh my, dear friend, between the rhyme, your words and flow..Absolutely magnificently done...It so carries the mood of our times, if not personally!
So spiritually directed this write.. May it speak to all who read!

Excellent
Too many go through life, forgetting today should be lived, not tomorrow, for it never comes. We forget about heart and soul, settling for less and less as time flows daily. We forget that life, our lives are precious, we have control who walks inside our lives, how it is used. We waste too much precious time, that can NEVER, be reclaimed. Once its gone, its gone, never to have again or enjoy. Your thoughts brought this out of me, as I also, think of my life the importance of each living day. Thank you for such a thoughtful caring write. One of your better ones to make me think, about how frail we are, in the sifght of God.
