The verdict was returned on this day
Holding everyone in suspense & wondering
Evidence pointed to the obvious answer
Very nervously he waited, for that sentence
Especially when his future's on the line
Right whe she gazes back, into his eyes
Driven by nervousness, he returns a loving look!
It's then, when the jury announces his future
Couldn't be more guilty, as anyone can be
That when the verdict was returned...he's ready
While he was charged, for being involved in this
A love that took a lot of risk and even danger
So he admitted to one and all...with a passionate plea
Reminding one & all, that it was his heart involved
Everything's worth the sentence of eternity
That for one day, without her, it's devastation
Understand the many reasons, he fell in love
Reminding one more time, he loves her immensely
Now it's time to serve, for the chains are broken
Each day will be a sentence, of no hard labor
Daily from then he realized, when the verdict was returned!

very good
Understand the many reasons, he fell in love
Reminding one more time, he loves her immensely
Now it's time to serve, for the chains are broken
Each day will be a sentence, of no hard labor
the labor of love
love's labor lost
an interesting piece
i was unsure in the beginning
but
it kept me reading
to find out every detasil
and
then you switched to a new theme
one of love
one of caring
one of a soulmate
it got interesting
and
arresting (lol)
is it one of a broken heart
that while we are love
we freely give what we rerceive from our significant other
and
when we lose her / him
we are then sentence to life alone
without their love, caring, happy, joyous, free
we all joke of being chained to our partner
but
when we divorce, etc
we are lost, walking the floors, full of anxiety
the neverending "why"
it's so true
we are sentenced to an unjust, unfair, unwilling fate

i would indeed like to know exactly what the "verdict" is, i dont quite understand what happened, but i like that it happened with good reason?i like it, it keeps me thinking. maybe put in the author notes what it's about tho. because people cant know every thing love. but overall very nice write.

Inspired by a lyric in a song
The song, "American Pie" by Don McLean, which came out in 1972, has a lyric that says, "now the verdict was returned" gave me my inspiration for this. This was one of my easier writes, for we all live under the gun today, the pressure & the reality of life....Thank you so kindly for responding...smile...David -
