the clock ticks one
the clock ticks two
a second goes by
and another one too
a minute resumes
to more minutes
and hours go by
to make up the moments
days go by
weeks run past
months swish over
years decay
and this is just
how life goes by
time wont stand
and wont come back
so do what you have to
dont wait for tommorow
nobody's eager
nobody's hopeful
to have them with you
everyone wants themselves
and wont wait for you
time is flying....
and it's your time to move....

This poem shows a mature level of thinking and has a good beat or movement to it just like the sound of a clock's second hand - it reminds me of watching the big one over the classroom door when I was in school and how slow it moved in that last five minutes sometimes. I guess that is always true when you are watching; it's only when you are absorbed in your task that it flies.
I just learned a funny expression this morning for "quitting time" in England - it's "Beer O'Clock" because everyone leaves work to go have a drink.
