Oddi is a name of the ferret I have. Ferrets live very short life, just 6-7 years.
He was born in a day coming once in four years: February 29th.
That's why we can have ferret's birthday party just once in his life span...

    I can just see that little guy running around. I used to have a fish for a pet, but when I took him out for a walk, he couldn't keep up. LoL Howard

    Was not expecting a poem about a ferret, but glad I received one. It is an oddity to have one born on February 29th, but I suppose that makes his name all the more suitable. Thank you for your entry.

    I have known ferrets last longer than 7 years, some even made it into double figures, they were of course nurtured and molly coddled all their lives and not worked too hard.

    I like this, it shows much closeness, and the description of under a star is saying that you were brough together by fate. You chose the ferret, there is another ferret that missed out I would say.
