Hm...two sentences yet so much is said.
When one is depressed or full of pain its true...their body is more receptive to the cold. -

Gorgeous, doll. I just got to thinking how hampering the cold can be and how when you get especially frozen you can hardly move or do what you need to do. The same is true with sorrow... and liquid sorrow, here, seems to indicate a sorrow that is both tangible and perhaps uncontrollable, you can't contain it, or stop in, or hold it in your hands and do with it what you want. Anyhow, the words here are very provoking. Poignant.
