Come child, sit here on the bank of this river,
now calm your mind and open your ears,
breathe deeply of the river's sweet breath,
then close your eyes and let go your fears..
This great river runs through many lands,
borders mean nothing to it's long travels,
can you not smell so many different places,
listen, hear it run over the talking gravel?
If you are very quiet and listen very hard,
you can hear the river's spoken words,
it will tell you of it's beginning and it's end,
and all the life in and on it, fish and birds..
For ages on end it has stayed this course,
singing songs with blended verse and rhyme,
all you have to do to hear it's many tales,
is open your heart and expend some time..
Release the stress of day to day worries,
lay back and let the warm sun caress you,
now drift away on the river's gentle words,
and you'll dream of all the lands it's been to..
Up there, from distant yonder snowy peaks,
down through orchards glazed with blossom,
and now through deserts of tradewind spices,
finally to shores filled with jetsam and flotsam..
This river's travel are never ending, my child,
for even when it reaches great Mother sea,
through her, it reaches another distant shore,
only to begin again, another rambling journey..

This was simply wonderful, I loved the imagery, the peace and beautiful feeling of relaxation I get fromt his. I especially adored some of your phrasing like *talking gravel* and orchards *glazed with blossom* simply magical. 4th stanza down should be course rather than coarse I think.
