a fortress
you are strong

and old and slightly crumbling
like soldiers;
some of us are injured
some us of us are brave
and others were just drafted
to the wrong family at the wrong time
but no matter what
we'll fight to keep you
whether its a horse-fly
or something much bigger..
{if only that really meant anything}

bleh. crap title, crap poem
written to my nan who lost her brother and now her mother 
horse fly bit becuase my nan is allergic to them and if she gets bitten it flares up and causes a lot of pain
ending probably the best bit
