If Only...

If only...

the visions of heart
could be willfully sustained
when eyes are opened

If only...

the longing of soul
could be blissfully fulfilled
when two minds connect

If only...

the essence of I
could through this force of intent
self actualize

If only...

  • Self-actualization. A fascinating goal. I think human nature is defined by a certain duality that is really impossible to completely bring together.

I love this poem. Absolutely perfect. Every line.

The duality is of an artificial nature. If we drop what is artificial, we drop the duality. Thank you for your lovely comment.

  • Surely this is of the 'living prayer' motivating most individuals, even if not thought of this way.
'the essence of I' and its 'force of intent' to become itself in expression.

    A great write!
Brings to my mind the Sufi concept of learning to 'die before you die', in order to bring about the possibilities pointed at here.

Yes, dying before you die is the symbolic death of the artificial self, the individual ego personality. Once it is dealt with, possibilities from deep within become possible which are not possible when the ego is in control. Thanks for the insightful comment.

  • Brilliant....

    If only...

It is amazing how many ways one can see this write, the realms are unpredictable and always more intense with one's heart, but on the wings of trust, one will connect, its inevitable....
