The music roars as thunder in the air,
rocking and vibrating the car,
driving through the victim litter concrete wastelands
booming sounds of the notes silence their screams,
adjusting the volume when their voices become too loud.
Pretending the knobs on the dial
actually are connected to the ears,
while the brain stopped listening long before,
mind’s head phones only adjusted
to hear the replay of self’s grandiose solo.

Yes! What an excellent and thought provoking take on this prompt. I think there is a little of this in all of us sadly, as we get on with our own lives.
