I had the most romantic dream.
It ended in the rain.
We'd lost our way along the road
And knew it would be vain
To try to find our way again
And knowing this was so
There was no use in worrying.
The wind began to blow
And all was dark within the woods
But, Darling, even this
And all the lightning in the sky
Could not diminish this!
The dream had started on an edge
For though our love was strong,
Our ages made us worry they
Would say our love was wrong.
But getting lost along the way
To meet them even so
Was liberating in a way
That only we could know.
Untainted by society,
Unguarded smiles alone.
Unjudged, unwatched but by God's eye
We lay upon the stone
And laughed in mud and smelt the earth
Forgetting of the cost...
Of love - our love. Would that we could
Stay there - forever lost.

Lovely.
A sweet poem, with an old tail, two in love, ageism, the joy of love, and finally realization that perhaps it can never be. Thank you for sharing these dreams.
I also need to thank you for the award, it was remiss of me not to have done so before now, I hope you will forgive my bad manners.
