Bleeding Profusely
©copyright 2006 Bonita M Quesinberry, R.C.
By twenty, sin's wounds were bleeding profusely,
man's dogma saying death impending;
his science of symptomatic remedies
assuring demise not rescinding.
At twenty-eight, I sought the great Physician,
upon only His Truth depending.
He carefully cleansed each gaping, bloody wound,
stopped the red flow and stitched them tightly;
that my past be healed, my blood not spilled again,
though the scars do remain unsightly,
reminding daily that against Him I'd sinned:
"Not again," I vow to God nightly.
O, glory to Thee, Thou art full of mercy and love!
I've no heart to do less than as Ye set out above;
loving to do Thy commands, for they reveal my love.
Praise Ye, Lord, for Thou art kind and merciful
to leave all those scars to humble me;
a gentle reminder of where I have been,
and where I stand today before Thee,
sin's scars evident but no longer raw deeds.
Praise Ye, Lord, for these eyes that now see.
Praise Ye, Abba, for life-giving transfusions
rich in Rabboni's education,
and for feeding me with Thine understanding
of that which is deemed desolation.
O, bless Ye, Lord, for the person I've become,
one who lives Thine indoctrination.
O, glory to Thee, Thou art full of mercy and love!
I've no heart to do less than as Ye set out above;
loving to do Thy commands, for they reveal my love.

This is very deep... And very well written.

You not only have
a testimony, but a relationship with the Living God. However, you have given insight to the latter -- obedience -- the root to a dynamic relationship resulting in praise and worship. It's not the other way around. Continued to be blessed. Frans

I love the repetition of ..."O, glory to Thee, THou art full of mercy and love!" He is a bit busy binding and healing some of my wounds of this earthly war as well. As I read this, I was filled with his mercy, hope, kindness and faithfulness. I really needed it today. My teenage son has run away from home and I am depending soley upon the Father to bring me through the fire refined and bandage with his TLC! A wonderful piece for an early devotion and reflection! It is more than gold already!
Much love Mom,
Frogz~

Oh, dear Sandy, I wish he had called me (as he has in the past). Do you know where he might be and, if so, do you suppose you could get him to call me? As for this poem, thank you for such encouraging words and sharing your current pain: I know the feeling, as I've been there, done that with my daughter many, many years ago.
Let me know what I can do, sweetheart.
Much luv & hugs, MomB

No mom, it's all about a girl (they are 16 and in love...arghhh) and he won't even call me or come home to get clean clothes. Had to report him as a runaway last evening as he is also skipping school in the meantime. In fact has over 21 absences so far this year and all unexcused but one. I have prayed and let it go, though the tears still flow freely.
Thanks for your concern and love! If I could get him to call you, believe me I would!
Love ya so much,
Sandy

I am so glad
I stopped by. Know that from the corner of South Africa, I will be thinking of and praying for you, and your son. I do not know what a mother's heart experiences in such times, but I thank the Lord that I can learn. Blessings. Frans -
