I cam from above
But I was sent to Hell.
My ivory wings
Were blackened to ash.

My halo no longer
Held it heavenly light
And my surroundings
Were no longer beautiful.

My only companions were
Demons and sinners
Crude and uncaring
Ruthless and merciless.

So I went up to Earth
And I saw you standing there.
You were gorgeous.

Your eyes were full of passion.
Your heart was full of joy.
And your body
Sent shivers down my spine.

You smiled at me.
I was in awe.
You noticed me
But something was wrong.

I saw those wings
The colour of fresh snowfall
And I realised
Why you seemed so perfect.

I bowed my head
And I started to cry.
You kissed them away
And you asked me "Why?"

I told you that I loved you
But it could never be,
You were an angel of Heaven
And I was the devil.

You said it didn't matter
That you could live with me
But I shook my head.
You deserved better than Hell.

You shook your head
Said you could deal with the pain.
That as long as I was there,
Heaven would be by your side.

So people may sneer
But it does not matter.
You are mon ange
And I am ton demon
And Heaven couldn't be any sweeter.
