Dream From An Angel

I dreamed of you last night,
For the first time in so long.
You told me it'd be alright,
I just needed to be strong.

I had so many questions,
Like why you couldn't stay.
You replied, "I had to learn a lesson,
And losing my life was the only way."

I still can't believe
You're no longer here.
When will this pain leave,
From losing a loved one so dear?

I'll keep you in my memory,
Locked away so tight.
I know you are smiling down on me,
Making sure everything's alright.

This is to you Shannon. I love you girl! I hope you are having fun up there in heaven!

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

Lovely poem, though the reason that pushed you writting it was not so good...

It is always hard to loose someone we love. But, as you said in the poem, you know she'll always be around, looking for you ^^ I just hope your pain gets smaller with time.

    Best wishes,

    Arthemise

    Wow....

.... I lost my best friend and fellow poet in 1998 and have never felt a poem touch as close to my feelings about this as I have this one. Well I have written a few but this is different for it was like reading someone else who knows what torments me! Well done!
