These seeds that I have to plant,
Some will encourage, others will hate
There will be those who nourish them
And some will replant these seeds
Yet, others will try to destroy them,
Considering them a terrible fate
Like germinating seeds, our true being
Wants to break through and for thisWe need warm, accepting, rich soil
For strong roots to grow to the reality
And awareness of our true Being
Though some consider them as weeds
To thrive, these seeds cannot worryAbout petty differences or mundanity
For their goal is to reach for the sun!
These seeds would soon be torn down
By the wind and rain, if they let their
Conviction to find Truth be undone
Author notes
We all need to belong; a nurturing place to plant ourselves where we are loved, accepted and supported. That is what this poem is about. Thank you for you honey bear! I have been with Allpoetry for two years now. When I first came here; you were the one who made me feel at home. It was you. I will never forget that. I do not want the silver membership. If I win; I want it to be given to someone who is new to Allpoetry and needs support and encouragement like I received when I joined two years ago.

I think we remember the first person who makes an impression on us. I was new to writing on a poetry site except one which had no interacting with others. I think of you the same as you think of this sweet lady. You were so very kind to me. Plant a seed of kindness and it grows.

Karen , I love this, it is well written and so poignant in terms of being true to ourselves and surrounding ourselves with those that will encourage, foster, and support our growth......in reading your comments, i want to say to you that YOU and Patty are the ones that have made me feel comfortable, supported, and welcome on here and for that i am very grateful and appreciate. hugs and peace

These are some beautiful thoughts, and it is so true that we have to plant our own seeds and surround ourselves with those who will help nourish and love those seeds, all the way through their growth. What an uplifting poem for the contest. Blessings, Patty
