I know you know him ,
most people do.
Some don't get acquainted,
until they are no longer new.
He strikes without notice,
and often sets my big toe on fire.
Then travels up my leg and back,
Mr. Pain I don't admire.
Sometimes it's in the morning ,
but most times it's during the day.
I get a sharp pain without warning,
and it makes me make a cringing face.
Most people never notices,
those who carries him with them
everywhere they go.
But Mr Pain doesn't give a hoot,
he just takes me while on the go.
Sometimes people get cranky,
making them rude to others indeed.
But how would you like to carry Mr Pain,
around with you uninvited you see
Be considerate of others
if they give you the eye,
its possible Mr Pain is so saviour
it's about to make them cry.
They trudge on about their business
but their nerves are shot,
for Mr Pain is taking them down
in a good mood their not .
Be considerate to others
as you go each day,
and know us human's
have our problems to along the way.
We hurt sure sometimes badly
but we never stop you see,
for to stop old rigamortice will slip in
and take me down indeed.

Author notes
The more you dwell on a pain the worse it hurts . So dont pay old Mr Pain no mind and get yourself out there and do the best you can . There is no race in life so go at your oewn speed and enjoy what you can dont let him ever get you completely down

I too know Mr Pain all too well. As you said in your write he most certainly wasn't invited! I live your words more days than not and it isn't easy. People don't understand. They look at me and say but "you look fine". They know nothing of my invisible pain! Obviously you do my friend!

Good advice Patty
When we are young and our bodies are like a well oiled machine, we can become impatient with older folks with their aches and pains, but life is a great teacher don't you think?
There is a lovely poem by Edmund Waller, called after the storm, and the seconed verse is as follows,-
The souls dark cottage, battered and decayed
Lets in new light through chinks that time has made
Stronger by weakness, wiser men becomeAs they draw near to their eternal home
Leaving theOld,both worlds at once they view
That stand upon the treshold of the new
It would be nice to think that although we would never wish pain on anyone, it can be used to concentrate our minds on what is important.
And purify us of the dross incipiant in our selfish selves

Patty,
Mr. Pain, is a pain in the backside! But still things got to be done, so we do keep going
like this weekend
ugh. not looking forward to that. But that is what has to be done, so I will just stop, at the end of the day, soak in a bath and continue on
Great job here!
and love
Nyetta

Aww I like this a lot. I like how you personified pain, I also like the note you left, it really helped me understand the meaning. Great poem, a few typos, no big deal? Do you type in Word first? I have to haha

As always, a great message, and a well written poem. I often feel that coming to read what you have to say would be worthwhile without even reading the poem if I skipped the poem and went straight to the "Author Notes" which always have gems of information and thought in them. (Not putting down the poems in any way, the poems are great. Simply saying that your Author Notes" offer more than many other people's poems have to say.)
