Tears

baby tears
of need, hunger;
a soft shoulder for comfort

childrens tears
of pain, hurt
transparent soon forgotten

with age comes feelings

teenage tears
broken hearts, lost loves
overpowering emotions

with age comes understanding

adult tears
of love, loss
life and death

produced by a gamut of emotions

I still have a soft shoulder
and open arms -

      please

let me dry your tears

    Wonderful. My wife has begun to make teddybears again. She did one in chenile, and the granddaughter says, "Is it for me, Grammy?" "Why yes!" She has sold 5, and has only made one so far. There is a book called "Hold me tight" by DR. Sue Johnson. I read one of her essays that says
    It is the strongest among us that reaches out to others. That is what you do here. Best to you...

    Another tender loving poem; I rather melted when I read it. The progression is fine, and the ending is sublime! Excellent free verse, my friend. Lita

    Beautiful. It sounds like something a mother would write to her grown up children. A mother is always there to wipe away tears.
