When Life Hurts

Sometimes life hurts
you need a friend
Sometimes life hurts
but when I am here
your pain will go away
nightmares leave you crying
for now
I'll put my arms around
in time you'll feel my love
those bad dreams will stop

Your pain will soon ease
Everyone will be pleased
Others will envy you
Try to understand
You're not alone

pain,grief,and hurt is something
that seems to last forever
just remember
it's only for a short time
while you're in my arms
you can't feel it
you'll grow strong

in time
you'll understand
why things happened

you'll become a friend

to someone else

our friendship will grow

and become a beautiful rose

  • Digested!

Kindness & solicitations when someone is in pain goes a long way in healing & when someone receives comfort then comfort can be shown to others! Nice work here.

I love the ideas you present, of receiving comfort, going through the necessary time to heal, and then to "grow strong" oneself in exercising compassion toward others. Beautiful way to live, to receive humbly and then look for opportunities to pass kindness along graciously.

  • When we give up our habit of comforting ourselves with food, it's good to be able to turn to a friend for a hug or an ear.

so lovely and very true... It brings me back my school days and old friends, I dunno why.... The first stanza is all about my mother who treated my childhood days of sorrow and pain with love... the ending is very touching... all the best, friend
