A River and a Rose

Heavy heart spills
inked stains of yesterday,
smearing thoughts into syllables
of uncertainty

ailing within a storm
of unfocused devastations
striking the soul;
my breath leaves me…

without a sigh,
a down pour of
rain, saturates sorrow;
submerging all spirit
into the depths
of unknown

as a river bed forms
a dissimilar tomorrow,
flickers of light
shine upon this shadowy flow
of murky currents

yet adrift, once again
upon a solitude
of weary

only memories of you
have delayed the
inevitable~

    beautiful pic and the accompaning words add to the beauty... written with your soft quill as usual..

  • This has a wonderful flow, and expresses the poet's thoughts with strong emotion. Very well done.

    First i fell in love with the title, and knew it had to be an awesome piece of poetry, and I was right. This is amazing. Emotion and intense and deep all rolled into one outstanding poem. The picture goes well with this piece.

    You are indeed a beautiful poet.. this is deep and intense..wonderfully written. The lines:

    ailing within a storm
    of unfocused devastations
    striking the soul;
    my breath leaves me…

    grabbed hard. Great stuff!
