In the calming moments after midnight,
rises all the promises of a tomorrow
gained for all you achieved yesterday,
time to lay your mask upon the fool,
stand naked in the light of the moon,
begin to sway to the songs of day.
After dark there is a new beauty,
hope our fingers are blessed to touch
although we feel that we are broken,
we only need to look to see our love,
in those eyes there is never any doubt,
a single moment there eases stress.
The darkness never left me blind,
your body wrapped me like a shroud,
even though my eyes were closed
I could feel that you were watching me,
in the chill long before the dawn,
your heat leaves me untouched by cold.
There is no power in fears that cut the air
with the tearing scream of a nightmare,
without inhibition arms are entwined,
finding dreams both awake and in slumber,
silence holds us free from our worries because
we know the sun will find us in the morning.

So beautifully scribed & with emotion
so softly expressed. You capture the
reader in such a way that we can
find part of ourselves within.
Love the fond abstractness of this piece.
Best of luck & thanks for entering
