I used to be a drunkard
And I was a sluggard
I was the man no one wanted to be
I used to be a liar
With my pants often on fire
I wanted to be the one others could see
I hid within the darkness
And played around with larkness
Never knowing what I was meant to be
Then along came the Lord
To drive back the dark hoard
And at last I could see
Now I am reborn
I am not forlorn
I am finally free
I am a new creation
coming from devastation
I am not what I used to be
I was an an evil man
Now I abide within God's plan
Jesus set me free
