So Goes The Girl

So goes the girl that I need to love
A month ago I didn’t know how
But do to newfound forgiveness
I do now

She’s so different, so edgy
It used to almost scare me before
But she’s broken
And she deserves much more

The lines on her arms say her story
Drowned in self-hate for so long
She tried to please others
but she knew it was wrong

She’s an obstacle
That can encourage or degrade me
A blessing of some sort
By the man who made the blind man see

Oh such a test
That will take more than my will
I have such resentment in my heart
But I know hesitation can kill

Oh how I hope
She lets me share a great love
And that she opens her eyes
To the god up above

She may insult and hate me
But I know that she’s hiding her weakness
If I stop now, I could let her burn
And I can’t take that risk

have you ever been put in this kind of situation?

I plan to revise this poem: please leave constructive criticism!

    Awesome

Wow. Thank you for writing such a powerful piece of writing and there's really so much depth in this poem and so many points I can comment on. I think what I get out of it is that people and world will know us by our love and know our God by our love!

Also, thank you for commenting on my poem. I haven't written in such a long time and felt like it was time for me to write again. I digress though... I loved your poem and hope we can chat sometime. God bless you.
