what no one has done

no one
has ever done it.

no one
has ever dreamt it.

no one
has ever had the grit
the gut,
the persistence
to do what i have done.

brick by brick
shred by shred
one line at a time.

i have finally succeeded.

i finally taste
victory.

i finally see the fruits
of my labors.

i finally used an entire eraser...

Author notes

this poem is actually a lie.

i have never actually used an entire eraser...

but i thought it was a fascinating concept...

Please tell me what you think

  • i didnt even think they still made erasers... lol

i like it! very creative. Light and full of energy. gripping. Good ending.

when your eraser runs out tho... you have to sharpen both ends and not use another eraser until that pencil is gone... its the rules...

i mean an eraser that is just by itself. like those little pink square ones that you buy at the start of the school year and never use entirely...and somewhere out there there are thosands of half-used erasers...

so, your rules don't apply... =P

      thanks for the comment!

  • Reminds me of the Ode to the one inch pencil in The W.A.L.L.

    Cute!

I had to read to the bottom, it was so intriguing!! Very clever way to grasp your reader.

haha... how did you even come up with that idea? this was awesome and put like... an instant smile on my face!
it is so good to see you back writing, too.

i loved how the beginning was intriguing.. like.. oooo no one has done it??? i need to read further because maybe i have... and then it builds up and up

and the last line.. its like, you have this build up inside you... sitting on the edge of your seat.. and then read that last line and all the build up is released in laughter... haha

ok.. now you think i am probably crazy enough to go and try using an entire eraser... hmmm that IS a thought.

    thanks for an enjoyable read!
