He was tall and lean.
He sat square on me.
His fist cut loose
into my nose.
Blood gushed everywhere.
He, then, picked up a broomstick
and raised it at my bloody face.
He was stopped by a woman.
Both of my eyes were
swollen and black.
I was stupified.
When I finally got home,
I was tended to by family.
They medicated me for sleep.
I awoke two days later,
wanting so badly
for him to come
and hold me.
And he did.

This is emotive and so strong. Sadly a reality for so many people. A powerful write

Sadly this is true in oh so many cases

You have portrayed this fact well in your write. Well penned...take care

This gives the impression that someone hurt you severely and that was the same person that you desperately wanted to take the pain away.
It is often that we find comfort in our abusers. They are all we ever know.
Thank you for entering my contest and good luck
Shari
