The sun shines bright on the darkened land,
charred by the bursts
of the greatest bombs,
and the aura of death
looms closely about the Earth.
A darkened tomb.
Then the night begins its round
as radioactive light
comes from the ground,
a greenish, freakish, hellish light.
It seems that all of us
lost this fight
called war.
Earth now spins void of life.
Our greatest cities now lay flat.
Our noblest soldiers' souls roam around
the broken cities, and the broken ways
so many cadavers on the ground.
Seven billion of us plus a billion more
of God's creations
lost in the third world war.
Author notes
Einstein said, "I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones."

Oh my well, I had never heard this Einstein quote before, but I do believe I am going to save it for future reference... You did such an excellent job portraying this. Great write!

Wow! This is so vivid and intense! Nice job!

Great imagery here. I like the title and how it illuminates Einstein's quote.
Nicely done!

This is quite true, this is what would happen during a nuclear war, we need to realize that violence isn't always the answer.
