Rise Isabel Rise.
Whispers the morning winds,
Whisking deep sleep from its coffin,
A macabre halcyon deserting its nest
Buoyed by the morose
Voices of falling leaves.
Articulate yourselves sere organs,
Once green, now a wan life
Basking in the artificial light
That you were born to live.
Rise Isabel Rise.
Rise Isabel Rise.
With more passionate doom,
Quailing 'neath greed,
Greed of the flesh.
Thwart your comforting captor
And ascend from your angle of repose,
Rise Isabel Rise.
Rise Isabel Rise.
From the temptation of quotidian slumber
Rise Isabel Rise.

PS - that is not to say you have not penned an enjoyable poem

Unfortunately, I was looking for personal/first-person, TRUE poetic accounts of relationship endings and the journey(s) a person makes from the end of love, back to being single etc. Noting your author box comments, while it might be considered you may be likening yourself and your experiences to the aforementioned character/book, that is not what I was calling for in this contest. I was looking for temporal detail, everyday experiences and the emotional journey, in a current (or at least modern day setting, and belonging to the author). Therefore regretfully, I must withdraw this from the contest.
