Dead Letters

She sits alone on the couch,
drinking in every word
the weathered pages whisper.
She remains listless,
yearning for Passion to
write her story more beautiful
than the romances that stir her spirit.
Her life pales in comparison
to the intoxication
of her dreams,
because living is easy
with her eyes closed.
She makes fiction
of her life,
setting the pages ablaze
with each word she writes.
She collects dust on the couch,
Sleeps under blankets of cobwebs,
Smothered by the ordinary,
her heart composes a
symphony of
blasé.

This is stunning. I love the imagery, simply because it isn't typical.

    Her life pales in comparison
    to the intoxication
    of her dreams,
    because living is easy
    with her eyes closed.

Those are gorgeous words, but the last two lines sound familiar.
    Are they from a song?

Wow, don't I just know how she feels.. I think we all wish we could live the lives of our dreams.. Even the rich man is seldom satisfied with how things are.. Very well done..
