Do They Pray?

I gently cry myself to sleep as I try to ignore the pain.
It hurts, but I know others have it worse.
That's what they always use to say,
be thankful for what you have
and pray for others in need.

Does that mean people pray for me?

Do they clamp their hands tight like I do?
Do they want to stop the bruises on me like I want to on them?
Do they cry theirselves to sleep because they hurt and know others do as well?
Or am I the only one that knows this?

Will this pain ever end?

  • nice write. i liked the way you went about it by wondering if people actually "care" about others in need of it. makes one really think.

    lovely and sad

i am deeply sorry for your pain if this is truly in the first person. you express yourself well. i love the selfless prayer for others. there is a place for you in the afterworld. i know your isolation and singular notion of pain, as i have recently lost an arm at work and the pain turns off your wits and empties your heart. i have, through research made contact with others in my situation and have found a degree of solace.
you are a talented writer and i must say, hell, i wish i wrote that.

thanks, sorry to say that it's not true, well not sorry, I'd hate it if this was true, but i know it is for some people and yeah, i just put myself in someone elses place for this.

I liked the innocence in this, the genuine wonder in whether there are people who prey for your pain.

There may always be people worse off then ourselves, but it doesn't mean we don't suffer with what we've been dealt.

Thank you for entering my contest and good luck
