Jo's Winter Song

Missing image

Endings
Finalities
Goodbyes and Farewells ~

the winter strives for fruition
in its barrenness and frigidity.

Two lovers leave their warm spot
and cleave to a fainting memory
of summer days gone by.

They remember when the sun rose bright
over the horizon
sprinkling passion with each ray.

To those on the outside looking in,
they are at their ending time,
final days are at hand,
ready to bid goodbye and farewell
to bitter earthen vessels.

Little do those outsiders know
the depth
and the height
and the breath
of the life remaining constant.

Full of love
overflowing with passion,
bursting with flowers of memories to come,

the two lovers greet the first Spring morning
with praise, gratitude, and reverence
still together forever.

    Simply Lovely

You share so much deep rich beauty penned in each and every line there never seems to be a lull your work has such a lovely cadence. I find this an addition to your work as well as your verbiage throughout is breathtakingly lovely your hearts expression so full. I love that you also chose to include such a lovely picture these precious little darlings just seem to fit right in then only enhances an already brilliant post. What a soft sweet melody you have gifted us with, a tune that gifts the ages my heartfelt thank you for this most enjoyable post..

First, I like beginning with an end and ending with a beginning. The development of contrasts and finding depth beneath the surface is a device that I enjoy; the stories of old people cannot be guessed, they must be explored. This is a beautiful look at what some think is just a time of sadness and loss. I like the imagery of winter and spring.
