Lucy was very important person in the 1800's because she helped the women's right's to vote. Women counld not do many things and could not protest without fear of being beating up from their husband and the police. When Lucy was young she saw that her father ruled the household and her mother had to beg for her husband for money because in those day's women could't voteor have a say in anything else. Lucy's family did not educated her but she was a fast learner and she was the first women who got a college education in State of Massachusetts.
Now people honor Lucy for her wonderful hard work that helped get the rights of freedom for women. in the United States.
