My heart bleeds
for all that you went through
in that cold, dark,
and cruel place.
My Soul cries out
with disbelief
of all those people
who were around you
taunting you,
throwing sticks,
hitting you with stones.
Pointing
Laughing as you lay
bleeding,
hurting,
dying.
And yet,
for all of us
you sacrified so much.
Could I
have taken your place
could my faith have survived
all the ridicule
the lies
the deceit
that you went through
in the end of your days.
My thoughts
they overwhelm me.
How could people be so cruel
to one who only wanted
love and peace for all.
And yet,
that was Our Fathers plan
it would seem.
For he missed his children
and through his own son
he gave us a way
to come to him.
for all that you went through
in that cold, dark,
and cruel place.
My Soul cries out
with disbelief
of all those people
who were around you
taunting you,
throwing sticks,
hitting you with stones.
Pointing
Laughing as you lay
bleeding,
hurting,
dying.
And yet,
for all of us
you sacrified so much.
Could I
have taken your place
could my faith have survived
all the ridicule
the lies
the deceit
that you went through
in the end of your days.
My thoughts
they overwhelm me.
How could people be so cruel
to one who only wanted
love and peace for all.
And yet,
that was Our Fathers plan
it would seem.
For he missed his children
and through his own son
he gave us a way
to come to him.

This is a good question would humanity be willing and selfless enough these days to do what he did back then? Thank you for entering!

This is intense. I really got into it. It's pretty deep and I can really understand mostly. Or I can relate, cause no one really understand anyone else. But it's good.
Nice one. -
Oh wow. I love this. I really do, brought back memories of my childhood, the church I grew up in & ended up marrying in. I learned so much from those around me while I was there. It makes me miss being little.

Great write. I don't know if everyone does but I've often wondered this too...
-
beautiful piece full of emotions and so deep i ask god for forgiveness and to place us all in heaven with our beloved ones.

You should go to like a poet's fireside and read it. It's that good, a good audience poem.

Love this one
speaks to my heart, brings a tear to my eye.

In L9, did you mean 'taunting'?
Otherwise, I found this to be a emotionally sound, and sad piece, filled with much food for thought. Well written with the thoughts expressed.

yes, thanks for pointing this out. It has been fixed.

Psalm 22 I think it is, where Jesus himself tells the very things he felt as he was going through that torturous death for us and for the very ones that taunted and spit upon him. He mentions that he could feel his very bones seperate ... yet he took nothing for pain when it was offered. I don't think we fully appreciate the sacrifice that His Father gave ... could I watch my only son go through that? I doubt it. Nice write you have penned for us. Thank you.

"could my faith have survived

That part stuck out to me, made me think. Such a deep question. Awesome write.
Blessings,

Thanks I thought it a deep question myself... I just wonder would my faith stand that test? I dunno and hopefully I will never have to find out.

God bless you and everyone. I just wondered... if I were in Jesus' shoes could I have kept my faith... through all the lies, pain, and suffering... I dunno. Guess none of us really do unless we are faced with such a situation.
