~February 23, 2009~"Menus of Possibilities"

the refusal of a wine flute,
to let go of chapped stick lips.

peeled orange rind wakes
the mental notes of porous incantation.

citrus blossom fugues,
to rescind the wormwood bitters-

breaks the low somber swing,
to balance and equipoise.

to laugh again at the frog fries,
to relish joy over the deep fried onion.

smother cheddar over melted hopes-
fatten the wallet of a starving mind.

new bread roll baskets on gingham cloth
clicks the bright pen against the table-

steamed java and rice fulfills the need
to string applicant expectations
upon a fresh start of a new day.

-Just some randomness. They are not meant to all be strung together into one poem or to be taken seriously. This is merely an exercise of mine to generate texture, color, life and to generally get my muse working.

Ooooo, such rich imagery I need to skip dessert. Very well-selected words to translate your poem. You have indeed, generated texture here. How's the muse going?
