Puppet Tears

I'm not a puppet but a dangerous voodoo doll.
I have needles that strike the morally weak
instead of strings that control the way I speak.
I talk about real life, not about elves and trolls.

If two thousand's heaven is like 1984,
I won't be happy with this blast from the past.
Life as a few know it, will vanish really fast.
To save the future, we must wage a verbal war.

[Pre-Chorus]
I'm just thinking aloud;
isn't thinking allowed?

[Chorus]
I want to give you all a reality check
like people such as Immortal Tech,
Zack de la Rocha and Martin Walkyier.
These poets and I won't cry puppet tears!

You want a penny for my thoughts
but all interest shown is incendental.
You are dying to fund a mental
because his CD's will be bought.

You say I'm looney tunes like Wile E. Coyote
and straitjacket me because I'm "absurd".
I'm not focused on Roadrunner or on other birds.
You are stoned to ignorance by social peyote.

[Pre-Chorus]
[Chorus]

Some are too blind to see the world in HD.
We are savages; we still adore shiny things,
big cars and private planes with golden wings.
They're just bread and circuses for humanity.

Darwin was wrong; this is mass devolution.
I won't be brainwashed until it's bright;
I rather want to be the dust you all bite.
Cogs in this society don't make revolutions.

[Pre-Chorus]
[Chorus]

    Nice....

..... I have to say I am glad you added the refernce guide for those that might not understand, however I have to question if pointing out those refernces is wise. If people who read this on the net want to know more about something the can copy, paste in google and learn on their own, god bless the internet!

1984 is a stunning book, George Orwell is quite a amazing author, have you ever read his novel Animal Farm? Its about the pigs taking over a farm but if you look deeper you can also see its links with the Russain Revoloution, it is a very deep book. Worth reading. So is this poem. Firstly well done on winning gold, I think i've some of your work before and your songs are always most intreguing...thats if I think you are who you are but if your not who I thin you are, you are very good like the person who I think you are but might not be.

Brillaint work, best of luck and keep writting,

"To save the future, we must wage a verbal war." That line rocks socks.
"Really" is a weak adjective compared to the words around it. consider 'pretty' or 'is gonna'?
"like lyricists such as" This is redundant.

Very good write. You seem passionate about this subject, and it's important. Way to go.

  • Powerful write..strong lyrics...I really enjoyed this thank you

  • Well this reminds me of Metallica's Master Puppet. I really like the way this flowed and the song seems to havea good deep bass beat to it. You have two poems in the contest so I will be splitting your points up. I see that this poem/song is about a 30 on the wow factor. Thank you for entering the contest and the best of luck to you.
